How we use AI
We use AI tools to help with research outlines and first drafts. Every guide is then rewritten and fact-checked by our editors against the sources linked on the page. Guides marked “Reviewed by” have also been checked by the named professional.
Where AI helps
- Turning a list of questions and sources into an outline.
- Writing a first draft for an editor to work from.
- Suggesting plainer wording for a sentence an editor has already checked.
Where people do the work
- Research: editors choose the sources and read them.
- Fact-checking: an editor checks every claim and number against its source. AI output is never treated as a source.
- Expert review: a pest control professional reviews the guide before it is marked “Reviewed by” (a licensed professional for any pesticide or treatment guide). Until then, the page says “Expert review in progress”.
- Safety: pesticide and safety steps are checked against product labels and agency guidance by a person.
What we don’t do
- We don’t list AI as an author. Bylines name a person or the Pest Answered Editorial Team.
- We don’t use AI-generated images of pests, damage or people. If we ever use an AI-made illustration for something non-factual, it will be labeled.
- We don’t publish AI text without a human edit and fact-check.
If this process changes, we will update this page. Questions: contact@pestanswered.com.
